Padma's Plantation, an importer of wood, woven rattan and abaca furniture, now has its first dedicated store.
Known for its patio and porch styles, Padma's introduced a four-piece tall table set for outdoor use at the High Point market.
Home Imports, one of its Florida dealers, licensed the Padma's Plantation name for a 2,000-sq.-ft. store opened in mid-October.
The retailer operates a 3,500-sq.-ft. store in Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville, in the Palmetto Walk shopping center. Home Imports owner and shopping center developer Wilson Tennille is expanding the center and wants to open a store called Padma's Plantation at Amelia Island.
Padma's Vice President Kevin Sypolt said the company is eager to test the store concept and liked the Florida setting for its island-style furniture. The store's design would be modeled after Padma's showrooms in High Point and Atlanta, he said.
Padma Plantation's product line is now sold in a 2,000-sq.-ft. Florida store.
