Glen Raven announces name for new division

Merger of Glen Raven, The Astrup Company and John Boyle & Company was an historic event for the specialty fabrics industry

-- Casual Living, 3/3/2008 6:45:00 AM

Glen Raven, Inc., recently unveiled the name for its new distribution division: Tri Vantage, LLC. In May 2007, Glen Raven acquired long-standing business partners The Astrup Company and John Boyle & Company, two of the nation's largest distributors of fabrics, hardware and finishing supplies for the awning, marine, sign and casual furniture industries. After several months of consolidating operations and completing the merger, the new organization has announced its new identity and brand with Tri Vantage.

“We are very pleased to move forward as one united company under the new Tri Vantage name,” said Harry Gobble, president and general manager, Tri Vantage, LLC.  “Though the name is new, we are well known with a rich heritage of leadership in the specialty fabrics industry.  Through Tri Vantage, we have woven the strengths and capabilities of three great companies together to provide the highest level of product innovation and the best service possible to our customers.”

The company selected the name Tri Vantage as it represents the union of three industry leaders coming together to offer unmatched service and numerous advantages to customers. The merger of Glen Raven, The Astrup Company and John Boyle & Company was an historic event for the specialty fabrics industry that promises many exciting changes and new opportunities for all.

Tri Vantage employs more than 300 people within 19 offices and distribution centers across North America. The vast breadth and depth of product inventory created through the merger, combined with optimal positioning of distribution centers throughout North America, will enable the new company to provide even greater efficiencies in the supply chain for fabricators and manufacturers regardless of their location.

Together, these companies share century-long histories of providing leadership and innovation in the industry, distributing thousands of products used in the creation of a myriad of residential, commercial and architectural applications including awnings, shade control products, signs, tents, tarpaulins, indoor and outdoor furniture, marine products and more.

“Through this merger, we have been focused on continuing to help our customers grow their businesses, assuring them that we will keep pace with global resources and the ever-changing needs of their markets," Gobble said.  “The unified resources of these three companies have created a stronger, more diversified organization capable of providing enhanced value to our customers.”

The company will launch a new corporate website in March – www.trivantage.com - with an expanded online catalog. Located within the main site, the new online purchasing system will make placing orders much simpler for customers with more product detail, photos, color swatches and real-time pricing. Users will be able to make customized lists of products they purchase regularly as well as to keep a wish list of items for the future.
