Jewels of Java President Karel Simeon and his family recently traveled to Java, Indonesia, to celebrate 10 years of manufacturing outdoor furnishings there.
After founding Jewels of Java in 1994, Simeon had returned to his home village in Java to open an exclusive factory in 1998. A highlight of the anniversary celebration was the recognition of more than 30 employees
who have been there from day one, providing quality products for over 10 years.
“During our celebration, several people had a chance to reflect back on the past 10 years and look forward to our continued success,” Barbara Simeon said. “One of the elders from the employees church gave thanks for our many blessings; Esrom Simeon, our plant operations manager, spoke of overcoming challenges, and Karel
spoke of the exciting future that lies ahead for Jewels of Java.”
Sharing the company’s success, Karel and Barbara Simeon’s children Hana and Eli Simeon presented 50 needy families with a food package that included rice, noodles, cooking oil and sugar.
“We memorialized the occasion with a group picture, handed out gifts to all and concluded the day with a wonderful meal and a family party including door prizes and a band,” Barbara Simeon said. “Jewels of Java looks forward to many more years of successful ‘Manufacturing with a Mission.’”
