Contemporary design appealing

Available this spring through select showrooms and garden boutiques, Design Kollection presents Temple, an outdoor pavilion comprised of an aluminum frame covered with hand-woven 1-inch PVC strips and a removable teak floor.
With open views to the world outside, Temple defines a room space and provides a modern context for entertaining and living without rigid barriers. Jason Champion, co-owner and creative director of Design Kollection, designed Temple for Tidelli, a 14-year-old Brazilian outdoor furniture manufacturer. “I took an existing piece they had, the multifunctional Little Cube, and imagined it as a room,” Champion said. “Next, I incorporated Design Kollection’s outdoor fabrics for draperies and cushions. “What I love about the room is that it translates the versatility of the Little Cube, which is a foot rest, chair or side table, depending on how you choose to use it,” he said. “With Temple, you have a space that can be a kitchen, dining room, living room or office, which is my favorite application. Everyone should work in an outdoor office, and someday we all will.” Shipped in four boxes weighing a total of 670 pounds, Temple requires a two-man crew for a one-hour assembly. Once assembled, the piece is 10 feet square. Design Kollection, co-owned by Champion and Morten Pedersen, was founded in September 2005 to inspire the contemporary movement in exterior design.
