Here Casual Living provides a listing of 2006 product introductions, most making their debut at the International Casual Furniture & Accessories Market this month in Chicago.
It's an exciting time of year for all involved — the manufacturers are able to see their designs come to life and the reaction of buyers; retailers get to see what is new and exciting for their showroom floors, and even we at the magazine look forward to the show to see what's around the corner in style and design for the casual industry.

Three lines debut, including Lorenzo, one of the Tropics program designs. The five-piece chat group and chaise lounge is crafted of all-weather wicker and features a 52-inch mosaic tile table. The Beaumont Collection has modern sling-back chairs framed with decorative cast aluminum accents in both dining and bar height collections. Featuring a lattice-topped cast aluminum table, the line also includes swivel chairs and a swivel umbrella. Finally, the Monterey Collection pairs modern with traditional for a new dining group complemented with a tempered glass-top table.

Alfresco Home expands its current collections of outdoor furnishings, patio accessories and interior home accents. Furnishings include all-weather wicker furniture, deep seating, classic bistro seating and table sets, new travertine and marble mosaic dining collections and accent pieces like a baker's rack, butler station, side boards and side tables. An array of patio Aaccents are introduced, including glazed beverage coolers, hose hiders and material bins.

Ancient Mosaic Studios
|From Ancient Mosaic Studios, the Narita tabletop is one of nine new contemporary designs.|
Casual Rustics, a new mid-priced line, features eight tabletop designs with a tumbled rustic appearance. The Narita tabletop also debuts, one of nine new designs. All contemporary, the Narita is highlighted by long strips of light and dark brown Italian marble bordered with Noce.
|Alcantara serveware from Arte D'Italia features a traditional lemon pattern on dinner, soup and salad plates and a cereal bowl.|
Alcantara dinnerware is introduced, previously available as serveware. The traditional lemon pattern is featured on dinner, soup and salad plates and a cereal bowl. The Natale pattern also debuts for the Christmas season, featuring a simple and festive design on a charger, salad plate and mug. New pieces debut in the Umbria Collection, including a square platter, umbrella stand and round platter, all in the Paesaggio pattern which features a matte finish.

The Equinox Collection expands to include a high dining table, high dining arm and side chairs and stools, designed by Mark Tyrie. Hand-welded and hand-cut teak constructs the products, complemented with brushed stainless steel. Also introduced is the Eclipse Range (48-inch table and stacking armchairs) featuring powder-coated tubular aluminum frames with a Textilene mesh seat and back and teak table and arm accents. Solid teak arm, side and reclining chairs debut in the Provence Seating Range. Solid teak coffee and side tables in various sizes also debut in the Monaco Low Table Range. Finally, the Rimini Parasol, a market umbrella designed for smaller dining and cafe tables, is introduced.
Black Mountain Design

The Cleopatra Single Chaise is introduced, a more personal version of the popular double chaise. With Italian styling, the Portofino Double Chaise debuts, complemented by a weather-resistant canopy.

Three collections debut, including Pasadena, a transitional design made from two-tone woven peel and wicker. The more modern Biscayne Collection is made from woven peel, and the Bermuda Bay Collection features rattan, wicker, woven leather and wood.
Brown Jordan International

Brown Jordan International premieres six collections, including Vista, with minimal design and a shape that promotes elegance and structure. Made of fully welded cast and tubular aluminum, Vista features contoured sling fabric. With Caribbean style, the Armada Collection is crafted of teak with hand-carved detail on the turned legs and oversized seating. The Neo-classical Empire Collection features a tubular aluminum frame with cast aluminum detailing and cast brass medallions on the chair backs, available with deep cushion seating and cast table tops. The traditional wingback is transformed in the Devonshire Collection with hand-woven rosewood weave over a tubular aluminum frame and teak foot detailing. Emanating the tropics, Grand Via mimics Caribbean wrought iron and features a tubular aluminum frame with cast back, cast aluminum detailing and deep seating. South Seas is an eclectic group of lounge furnishings, constructed of a teak frame with woven seat and back surface. The Vineyard division debuts Cane Bay, a traditional collection featuring Hularo over a tubular aluminum frame, non-woven arms and legs and a dark bamboo stain finish. Winston debuts seven collections, from the garden inspired Encore Sling line with a simple aluminum frame to the tropical inspired Lanai Sling Collection with a cast back of woven reeds.

The Al Fresco Collection of outdoor rugs is introduced. The line is a Wilton weave machine woven collection from Belgium. Made of 100% olefin, the collection is available in three designs — diamonds, Maya and Sedona, and features soft Southwestern colors. When soiled, the rugs can be washed clean with a garden hose.

Five collections debut in addition to expanded table top selections. The Carlyle Collection is a deep seating modular group that can be pieced together for numerous layouts. The castings present comfortable surfaces while seated and maintain refined profiles in the matched collection of left and/or right arm units, slipper, ottoman and chaise. The Grovepark Collection, with its clean, feminine lines, is a sling group with full die cast sides and includes low back or high back, stationary or swivel tilt, with an ottoman, chaise lounge and loveseat glider. South Beach Sling is a contemporary group featuring a wide extruded aluminum arm. A transitional wicker group, the Carlton Collection is woven in a herringbone double flat weave. Cambridge is a deep seating wicker line with classic double flat weave and consists of many stationary and action pieces.

From Richard Frinier, the Plein Air Collection debuts. Drawing on authentic prairie-style architecture, the line features six weatherproof pieces crafted in Honduran mahogany with a Timor finish. The collection also features oversized Leisure Plush cushions and travertine stone tabletops.

The Melbourne Arm Chair is introduced, highlighted by a reclining back. Constructed of polypropylene woven on an aluminum frame, the collection also includes a standard armchair, loveseat, coffee table, ottoman, gliding chair, gliding ottoman and dining set.

Through a collaboration with Sunbrella, Donghia Furniture introduces the Cabana Collection, a line of outdoor trim in bold colors and ethnic designs. Comprised of five trim patterns, the line includes stylish cording, fringe, poms poms and tassels.

The Bastia, Nantua and Bayonne collections debut. Nantua features aluminum frame construction with teak accents on the arms, legs and tabletop. Aluminum frames on the Bayonne line resemble natural bamboo. Bastia is a more traditional collection. The Corsica Collection expands to include dining and is now available in a java finish. A new darker finish, Mahogany, will be offered for the Bastia and Nantua lines.

|Erwin & Sons debut a line of stone tabletops custom fit for end, coffee and dining tables.|
The spotlight is on resin, loom and lightweight stone. Lightweight mosaic stone tabletops debut, developed exclusively for the company's Bahama Winds resin collection. The stone tops custom-fit all dining, coffee and end tables.
|Ficks Reed's rectangular table in the Catalina Collection is available in natural and java finishes.|
Expansions are made in the Weather-King line, including a lounge chair and ottoman, balcony table and chair, and rectangular table in the Catalina Collection. All items are all-weather wicker over an aluminum frame with fast-drying foam cushions. Available in natural and java finishes.

Afterglow patio torches and paraffin oil fire bowls are introduced. The torches are highlighted by a patent pending super-wick design that features a flame hundreds of times larger than traditional torch flames. The fire bowls use crystal clear paraffin oil instead of wood as fuel, and feature an aesthetic design that accents the outdoors.

The Scarlet and Woodland groups debut. The Scarlet group showcases Pablo, a corded stripe, along with Coleridge Parchment, a textured weave. The earthy hues of Woodland translate into a jac-quard velvet and two coordinating stripes. The textured stripe, Hawthorne, combines warm browns, reds and golds with an accent of sapphire blue, while the second stripe, Copperfield, repeats warm, woodsy hues. Both complement with a traditional floral damask.

The Back to the Roots and Kodiak collections are introduced, with pieces handcrafted from plantation grown teak trees. Back to the Roots features loveseats, occasional tables, chairs and bar sets. The Kodiak line includes game, coffee, sofa and end tables.

Three items debut, including the Bali Sunlounger. The Sunlounger adjusts to four positions and the leg area can adjust to two. The Jersey Super Highback Chair features a resin frame that can be stored. The Louisiana Table measures 68×40 and is contructed of an extruded aluminum frame with a resin tabletop. A Pietra film gives the table a granite finish appearance.

The Ibiza and Tiburon collections are introduced. Designed by Andrew Gower, Ibiza is a mixed media line that combines stainless steel, textiline and teak. The group includes a dining set, lounge chair, ottoman, chaise and occasional tables. Available in white and black fabrics, the Tiburon Collection combines stainless steel, textiline and teak.

The Bob Timberlake Collection is launched in Laneventure's WeatherMaster wicker line. The collection includes a full line of seating, such as an adjustable Morris chair, Fisherman's chair, sofa setting and cuddle chair ensemble. Complementary cushions are offered in a natural, earthy palette. A selection of cocktail and dining tables, along with the Mill Water Fountain, a three-tiered limestone and resin fountain, round out the line. New designs debut in the At Home in Tuscany Collection by Frances Mayes, including the Tuscan dining table, planter pedestal and dining armchair. Additional introductions are made in Cabana Joe's Crescent Bay line, the Huntington Bay Collection and the Bridgewater Collection. The company also has added gazebos to its line.

A line of botanicals by Laura Ashley Home debut. To be shown in the Hansen showroom at market, the line includes Pink Tulips in Water, a display of blush and cream tulips accented by greenery and a glass trapezoid vase with the look of water, and Wisteria, where bold purple wisteria are accompanied by lush greenery and wood sticks.

The Milano Dining and Deep Seating collections debut, including a chat firepit. From the Plantation Patterns division, the Grand Terrace Collection premieres as a full line, including action and stationary seating for dining, chaise lounges, benches, gliders, deep seating pieces and faux stone tables. Marseilles features a double chaise lounge and stationary chat chair, tile top tables and a 48-inch tile top chat table and firepit.

With a new Chicago showroom, the company introduces a line of indoor/outdoor furniture featuring metal and teak construction. The Mustique Collection features Asian-inspired fretwork and detailing on a range of seating and table designs. In contrast, the Loggia Collection features graceful, curving lines and a sand-colored finish. The Italian Series Collection features hand-made metal pieces available in bronze, aluminum or steel finishes.
New River Casual Furniture
A new company, New River Casual will debut a line of Brazilian cherry hardwood furniture. The line includes Adirondacks, dining tables, coffee and side tables, arm, folding, side and steamer chairs, a chaise lounge, swivel and barstools and benches. (see New River on page 92)

Phifer Wire Products
|Marquesa Blenda by Phifer combine a PVC yarn with Marquesa yarn for deep seating applications.|
Phifertex Marquesa Blends are introduced for deep seating fabrics. The fabric combines a PVC yarn with the new Marquesa yarn to give it dimensional stability for deep seating applications. Blended with PVC-coated polyester, the fabrics are available in 12 designs. Phifer Relax Stretch Fabrics also are introduced, made from a combination of PVC and elastomeric yarns. The Relax Stretch Fabrics are available as a special order items.

The Eden Roc seating and Sunny Beach dining groups are introduced. A contemporary seating collection with endless combinations of groupings, the Eden Roc line is available in both natural and dark mocca finishes on a solid teak frame. Sunny Beach offers stacking armchairs and side chairs with a variety of tables, all constructed of Hularo fiber.

|Hawaii by Rene Corriveau and Sons is complemented by a 60- or 72-inch table.|
The Hawaii and Venise Collections are introduced. With Galvalume tubing and a tempered glass top, the Hawaii line comes with two standard chairs with a sling seat and two swivel chairs, complemented by a 60- or 72-inch table. The Venise Collection features a faux stone tabletop constructed of solid aluminum. (see picture on following page)
|From Richey Industries, the Great American Woodies' line now includes Nantucket, a collection of Adirondack furniture in pastel shades.|
Authentic colors bring a soft look to the Nantucket Historic Collection, with shades like Newport Blue, Creamy Yellow, Sage, Barn Red, Surf White and Earthbound Green. Constructed of alder wood, the furniture is primed with high-gloss, two-coat, water-based enamel for durability. Included in the collection is an Adirondack chair, folding Adirondack chair, footrest, Adirondack rocker and side table.

Five fabric collections are introduced. Simple Elements uses newcomers Kona, Spa and Ivory to accent neutrals for a combination called Driftwood. The 100% solution-dyed acrylic group features textural plains, bold stripes and jacquard patterns. Island Oasis correlates jacquard patterns with bold stripes in combinations of Paprika, Canary, Olive and Ivory. The Silhouettes Collection mixes and matches patterns featuring the Seaglass coloration in the 100% solution-dyed acrylic fabric. Tropics showcases new colors Paprika, Olive and Canary on an Ivory background in a coloration called Sundance. Oceanfront blends blue hues with Cascade, a layered plaid and textural plains Raffia and Mosaics.

Known for its recycled products, Skichair.com introduces the Dolomite Skichair and ottoman, Skate Board Bench and Table and Re-Cycled Log Swing. The Dolomite is an Adirondack-styled chair made from cedar and real snow skis. The Skate furniture is constructed from skate board decks with the bench and table legs made from 100% recycled plastic. The Re-Cycled Log Swing is a natural white cedar swing made from recycled snow skis, water skis, wake boards, skateboards and baseball bats.

Several introductions are made, beginning with the Classic double chaise and the Lauren Collection from the company's weatherproof wicker line. Featuring the classical appearance of traditional wicker, the line was originally designed using a diamond-back pattern with a braided frame, and now has generous proportions with a high back, wide arms and ball foot. The Lauren Collection has ornate detailing on the curved arm with woven resin in retro-parson styling. Aluminum Tuscany deep seating in the Resort line features soft curves with UV-resistant vinyl woven over extruded bamboo aluminum with a three-step powdercoated pecan finish. Also in the Resort line, Maylay portrays a leather appearance with exclusive bamboo aluminum tubing in an Asian design. Made from wrought aluminum, Chippendale is a classic design with a dining set complemented by a bench, while Summer Cottage interprets Adirondack chairs with a specialized formed tubular aluminum, a curved back and seat. The Villano double chaise features a hammered iron finish and an X stretcher with a forged aluminum wrap. Constructed of cast aluminum, the Venice Collection features the metal hand-carved into the shape of wicker.
Designed by Joe Ruggiero, the Chelsea Double Chaise Lounge with canopy debuts. Made of tubular aluminum with simulated bamboo modules, the lounge has an adjustable back and wheels. The canopy can be moved up and down in the back or front to provide additional shade. Available in 16 frame finishes, the lounge also features more than 100 fabric choices, many designed by Ruggiero and woven by Glen Raven's Sunbrella division.

The collection includes a low and high back dining chair, rocking lounge chair, double glider, recliner with ottoman, barstool, chaise lounge and swivel rocker. Lakeside seating also is introduced featuring strong architectural lines for a contemporary or rustic look, depending on finishes and fabrics chosen. Available in cushion, woven, sling and padded sling, the line includes a variety of dining and lounge pieces. Tropitone's new Java Tabletop has a rich, hand-rubbed patina finish that resembles woven wicker.

Tyndall Creek expands its outdoor rug collection. As the exclusive distributor for Homemaker Industries, the line features more than 80 SKUs and was designed by Kea Capel Meacham. Constructed of 100% polypropylene, the rugs are available in sizes from 2×3 to 9×12. The company also will debut 13 fabric selections for cushions and umbrellas. The Sullivan and Aberdeen swivel stools are introduced as well.

From pergolas to urns and fountains, Woodard introduces an accessory collection in its Woodard, Woodard Landgrave and Lyon Shaw product lines. Five firepits made of cast aluminum with solid copper bowls are available in three designs and in propane or log burning configurations. Two fireplaces will debut, featuring cast aluminum construction and a wood burning design and including ash drawers and fireplace grates. Woodard offers two fountain designs made of cast aluminum or fiberglass. The new 12×12 aluminum pergola will also be available.

In the Signature Collection, four chimes are introduced. The Mystic Chime gets its tuning from the whole tone scale used by Claude Debussy and other impressionist composers. The 23-inch chime features aluminum tubes finished in a black powdercoating accented with tiny black plastic beads and cherry wood. The Nordic Bell will ring in the winter season. Constructed of hand-blown glass, it features an aluminum snowflake windcatcher. The Snowflake Ornament is topped with a red 3-D snowflake. The Morning Mood Chime has a musical palindrome, the same whether played backward or forward. In the Encore Collection, two chimes debut, including the Fiesta Bells that pair four brass bells with sangria ash wood accents, and Chimes of Pluto, accented with bubinga wood. Finally, the Duck Collection premieres as part of the Environments Collection. Crafted in Indonesia of sinuous, hand-carved bamboo root with teak accents, these charming duck statues will complement any outdoor environment.
