Pinnacle Award winners to be named

Sixty finalists were chosen in the 2006 Annual ASFD Pinnacle Design Achievement Awards competition, representing four finalists in each of the 15 categories.

In the 11 years of its existence, the Pinnacle Awards contest has experienced growth and has become one of the furniture design profession's most coveted and prestigious honors.

The Pinnacle Award nominees in the Summer/Casual category are: Sun Chaser by Dale Campbell, Lloyd/Flanders; Weybridge by Shaun Sweeney, ASFD, Woodard; Strata by Michael Farrell, Brown Jordan, and Eclipse Sling Rocking Chaise by John Caldwell, ASFD, Woodard/Landgrave.

The Pinnacle judges included Dr. Richard Bennington, High Point University; Gary Evans, Furniture/Today; Leslie Fishbein, Kacey Fine Furniture; Francel Goude, RFG-Global Design Group; Jackie Hirschhaut, AHFA; Dan Minor, Boyles Furniture; Dr. Thelma Lazo-Flores, Savannah College of Art & Design; Sheila Long O'Mara, Home Furnishings Business; Max Shangle, Kendall College of Art & Design; Julie Smith, Furniture Style and its supplements; John Summey, N.C. State/Furniture Manufacturing and Management Center and Rhonda Wolf, Havertys.

Furniture/Today is the major underwriter of the 2006 ASFD Pinnacles and will emcee at the awards banquet, set for Oct. 16 during the High Point Market.
