Wearbest Sil-Tex Mills, Inc., the makers of Bella-Dura performance fabrics, received the 2008 Earth-Minded Award from the American Society of Interior Designers during the recent Hospitality and Design Show in Las Vegas. The inaugural award was presented at the Green Luncheon and was received by Tom Notaro, vice president of sales and marketing.
Bella-Dura features include a minimum of 1,500 hours lightfastness, bleach cleanability, a minimum of 50,000 double rubs, inherent anti-microbial, mildew and stain resistance, and all can be recycled with a reclamation program currently in operation.
Irwin Gasner, president and CEO of Wearbest, is very excited about the award and the possibilities that it allows for Bella-Dura fabrics. “We spent three years in research and development with American Fibers and Yarns to make the proprietary Bella-Dura fiber, and one of the appealing factors to me in the development of this fiber was the fact that Bella-Dura is environmentally friendly,” he said. “This prestigious award by ASID validates our goal of producing an incredibly beautiful, durable performance fabric with a recycling and an operating reclamation program, and being good stewards of the environment.”
We would love your feedback!
