SCFMA board approves changes

The Summer and Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association board of directors has agreed to several changes in the annual Apollo Awards program, which honors excellence in casual and outdoor furniture retailing.

The board expanded the number of finalists in the single and multi-store categories to eight each. The top international store will be included as a finalist in both categories rather than as a separate category. In addition, SCFMA will now announce first, second and third place prizes in the single and multi-store categories. All changes will take effect with the 2005 voting.

The SCFMA Board also established show hours for the 2005 International Casual Furniture and Accessories Market in Chicago. Showrooms will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, through Saturday, Sept. 17.
