-- Casual Living, 3/16/2009 9:15:00 AM
The six most important trends at work in the consumer marketplace and how those trends will influence business over the next few years will be discussed during Top Trends for 2010, an educational seminar set for Monday, March 23 at the 2009 International Home + Housewares Show at McCormick Place, Chicago. The session begins at 7:30 a.m. in Room S100/Grand Ballroom in the South Building. No ticket or reservation is needed.
Tom Mirabile, vice president of global trend and design at Lifetime Brands, will present Lifetime’s forecast and analysis of consumer lifestyle trends that are reshaping the housewares industry. A panel of industry trend leaders will join him for a discussion about the economic, social and environmental crosscurrents that will drive consumer behavior for the foreseeable future.
Joining Mirabile are Susan Yashinsky, vice president, marketing, Sphere Trending, a trend consulting firm; Sharilyn Ruckman, president, Ruckman + Company, a creative strategy and product development company, and Curt Bailey, president, Sundberg-Ferar, Inc., a leading industrial design firm.
Top trends to be discussed include: Respecting Generational Divides, Living Within Our Means, The Live-In Kitchen, The Wellness Kitchen, Cooking for Fun and The Green Kitchen.
The Show features thousands of housewares and homegoods products for every room in the house, apartment or condo — and outdoor living, too. From high-end international design to trend-setting basics, products range from kitchen electrics and small appliances to gourmet specialty foods and cookware, from bakeware and kitchen tools to home decor, space organizers and storage systems, home healthcare and home-office to pet supplies and lawn and garden decor.
