Summer Classics to open Virginia showroom
-- Casual Living, 2/1/2008 12:00:00 AM
Summer Classics is opening its first Virginia showroom in Richmond.
To create its 13th factory store in the Southeast, Summer Classics leased 12,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space at the former Spa Hearth & Home building. The manufacturer uses a designer showroom aesthetic to present a mix of outdoor casual furniture, indoor furniture and case goods, including limited-edition reproductions, antiques and an array of high-end accessories.
“We are changing the way people think about outdoor furniture, and we are excited to have the opportunity to bring a different view of outdoor living to Richmond as well,” said Bew White, founder and president of Summer Classics.
Managing the showroom will be James Downey and Jonathan Williams, who have more than 20 years of furniture experience combined. The management team is currently in training in Birmingham, Ala., and Atlanta.
In related news, Summer Classics named Jim Culp as vice president of domestic operations; Richard Ogle as vice president of international operations and domestic manufacturing and William White as vice president of Summer Classics Home.
