Brown Jordan International names contract division management team

Brown Jordan International, Inc., added four new management team members for its contract division.  Craig Watts was named president, contract division.  Robert Price was named vice president, contract sales.  Leonard Backer was named vice president, contract marketing and product development. Paul Koehneke was named vice president, contract special projects.

Watts, Price and Backer previously served in similar capacities with Loewenstein Furniture and WinsLoew Furniture (predecessor companies to BJI). They left the company in early 2000 to found Epic Furniture, a competitor to Loewenstein, which was known for its leading edge design. Koehneke’s background includes substantial experience in manufacturing, global sourcing and logistics at various companies, including Whirlpool, US Airways, and Evenflo Company.

BJI also announced that Dave Biancofiore will return to his responsibilities of vice president, contract operations. Biancofiore has served in various capacities at BJI and Loewenstein for the past five years. He most recently was interim president, contract division.

These individuals will be responsible for leading the contract division, including the Loewenstein, Charter and Lodging by Charter brands. In addition, they will be responsible for launching a new high-end brand that will focus on multipurpose wood and metal lounge seating for commercial use.

“We are very pleased to welcome Craig, Bob, Lenny and Paul,” said Gene Moriarty, BJI president and CEO. “They bring extensive industry experience and proven past success that will be instrumental to the contract division’s future development.”

Craig Watts said, “Joining BJI allows us to immediately hit the ground running. Being familiar with the company’s operations, we hope to have a positive impact on the contract division.”
