New owners for Cottage Tradeworks

Colleen and Matthew Swartz are the new owners of Cottage Tradeworks, manufacturer of occasional furniture and accessories for the garden.

Former owner Larry Cloward will continue designing decorative birdhouses for the company.

Formerly based in Loysville, Pa., the company now is located in Cresco, Pa., in the heart of the Pocono Mountains. Formerly an owner of a printing company, Matthew Swartz had bought a few pieces from Cottage Tradeworks when he learned the company was for sale. The Swartzes formally became the owners in May.

Since then, the couple has added furniture to the garden line and plans to attend trade shows in Atlanta, High Point, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas. Cottage Tradeworks used to exhibit in Atlanta only.

"We're trying to get more national coverage," Matthew said.
