BJI names Gene Moriarty president, COO

Pompano Beach, Fla.-based Brown Jordan International named Gene J. Moriarty president and chief operating officer of the company.
Previously, Moriarty held the same titles at Evenflo Co., Vandalia, Ohio, when the company was a holding of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.
From 1997 to 2000, he was vice president, sales and marketing for Playtex Products. He has also held positions with Meridian Consulting Group, Warner Vision Entertainment, Thompson Medical Co. and Tambrands.
"We are fortunate to have found an executive of Gene's caliber to run the company's day-to-day operations," said Earl W. Powell, BJI chairman. "He has a strong background in sales, marketing, planning and operations. We believe Gene will make a meaningful contribution to our business."

"The company closed a new $90 million senior secured credit facility on April 28, providing BJI with significant additional liquidity and operating flexibility."
