Staff -- Casual Living, 8/1/2006 12:00:00 AM
Weather Trends International, which provides Casual Living with monthly business-related weather trend reports, was sold June 26 to Kodiak Venture Partners.
Management and staff of the Bethehem, Pa.-based weather trend forecasting company remain the same.
"Our relationship with Kodiak Venture Partners will allow us to expand our business weather solutions around the world and really change the way companies everywhere, big and small, plan everyday business activities like allocating seasonal merchandise, timing an advertising campaign or estimating the total influences of weather on the bottom line," said Bill Kirk, CEO, Weather Trends International.
John Abraham, chairman of the board of Weather Trends International, said weather affects 70% of the world's economy. "What Bill and Jack (Grum) have done is to pioneer long-term, reliable weather prediction; and make that an integral part of the commercial landscape," Abraham said.
