Vidalia partners for growth

Vidalia Grill can grill and sear, roast, smoke, steam, bake, boil and fry

-- Casual Living, 4/21/2008 12:27:00 AM

Vidalia Outdoor Products has partnered with Dan Yarbrough, former president and chairman of Sony Music’s Sales and Distribution. CEO Tim Montgomery expects the partnership cultivated late last year to take the Vidalia, Ga.-based manufacturer of the Vidalia Grill to the next level.

“With Danny’s expertise in marketing and sales coupled with my sales abilities, the U.S. is about to discover the best kept secret in outdoor grilling,” Montgomery said.

Made in the United States and carrying an unprecedented 99-year warranty, the Vidalia Grill is a complete outdoor kitchen. Because of its airflow design and its dual direct and indirect cooking surfaces, the Vidalia Grill can grill and sear, roast, smoke, steam, bake, boil and fry to perfection without any additional accessories.

Montgomery has been the driving force behind Vidalia Grills for the last five years, leading the company from a small start up business to a thriving organization with dealers nationwide. Before acquiring Vidalia Grills, he worked in the information technology industry, where he handled major corporations’ sales divisions. He sold to Global 2000 companies setting up and selling investment software.

With an extensive career spanning more than 30 years with Sony Music, Yarbrough has worked with the music industry’s most successful talents. From Barbara Streisand to Jennifer Lopez to Shakira to Pink Floyd to Beyonce, he has been responsible for selling and marketing some of the world’s best-selling artists. Sony Music Distribution has a profit center with sales in excess of $1.5 billion. In Yarbrough’s roles as president and chairman of sales and distribution, he was responsible for sales of all music and video products, customer marketing and advertising, supply chain management, managing special project and legacy divisions in the creation of new releases, repackages for catalog and individual customers, managing Sony Wonder, in addition to label coordination of releases and handling all aspects of marketing and sales.
