High-end designs to make public appearances

The John Brooks showroom, opening next month in the Dallas Design Center, will include high-end casual furniture from Design Discoveries International's Thayer Hopkins Collection.
The collection debuted at the Casual Market in September along with the Infinity Collection in regional sales firm Colie & Harris' 17th floor showroom. Following the Dallas exhibit, the Thayer Hopkins samples will be shown in the Dunkirk showroom in San Francisco, hometown of the residential architect and ASFD award winner. Later showings at regional design showrooms in Los Angeles and Miami are planned.
"This was a very difficult collection to manufacture due to the completely free flowing forms of the frames," said John Aves, president of Design Discoveries International. "There are virtually no right angles anywhere."
The collection, executed in slate-colored Viro fibers, includes both lounge seating and dining pieces and is suitable for indoor or outdoor casual settings.
Design Discoveries collaborated with AMS International to offer custom rugs fashioned from indoor/outdoor cushion fabrics with or without neutral braids. It also expanded its indoor/outdoor fabric and trim selection, incorporating the Joe Ruggiero collection from Sunbrella for cushions, pillows and rugs.
