Ancient Mosaic acquires Piage & Pieta

Ancient Mosaic Studios has acquired Piage & Pieta Art Stone of Atlanta.
The acquisition includes designs, molds, finishes and unique manufacturing techniques of the more than 20-year-old business, known for its distinctive line of table bases, urns, vases, pedestals and planters made from proprietary cast stone. Ancient Mosaic Studios will continue to market and promote the designs as Piage & Pieta Art Stone.
All of the molds and manufacturing equipment have been relocated to Ancient Mosaic Studios' facility in Fort Pierce, Fla., where the company produces its high-end line of marble and travertine outdoor tabletops. Key operational and manufacturing staff from the Georgia plant has relocated to South Florida.
"We see great synergies between the AMS and Piage lines," said Tim Capron, who with partner Paul Knutson acquired Ancient Mosaic Studios three years ago. "Some of our dealers have matched Piage & Pieta bases with our tops for years and we're excited to bring the two lines together in a more formal way. We're working hard to change the perception of Ancient Mosaic Studios as we transform the company from a niche tabletop producer to a much broader specialty furniture manufacturer. The Piage and Pieta acquisition is an important step in the process."
Knutson added, "Both Ancient Mosaic and Piage are high-end lines and our customers see this as a natural extension for us."
In addition, the Piage line offers a broad array of finish options and custom capabilities. "This provides a logical better/best product line-up for our dealers and their customers," Knutson said.
