Power outage keeps Cast Classics closed

Northern New Jersey area remains dark

-- Casual Living, 3/19/2010 7:52:00 AM

Cast Classics’ corporate offices and main warehouse remain without power and were unable to reopen today, as company leaders had hoped. The outdoor furniture manufacturer’s facilities are located in the northeast corner of New Jersey, which was one of the hardest hit areas during last weekend’s Nor’easters.

“We are hoping we will be able to reopen on Monday, but at this point we are just taking it day by day,” said Charles Emmons, vice president of Cast Classics.

Emmons and other company leaders are concerned about missing calls from customers who may be wondering why there is no answer at the business. Last weekend’s massive storm systems left tens of thousands of homes and businesses without utilities in the Northeast. Many of the roads in the area are still closed due to flooding and downed trees.

Cast Classics’ building was spared of any storm damage but has been without power since Sunday.
