Paddock Pools, Patios & Spas has new CFO

Rapid growth plans call for new hire

Paddock Pools, Patios & Spas hired Sean Keven Nolen as chief financial officer for the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based retail corporation.

"With our rapid growth plans in both Phoenix and Las Vegas markets, the time was right to create the position of CFO and hire a financial professional with strong CFO experience," said Buzz Ghiz, president of Paddock's pool division.

Since 1999, Nolen has served as vice president, CFO, treasurer and secretary for CAVCO Industries in the manufactured housing industry. Prior to that, Nolen served as CFO, treasurer and director of Simula and as a senior manager in the audit practice of Deloitte & Touche. A long-time Arizona resident, Nolen is a Certified Public Accountant. He will report directly to Ghiz.

The addition of a CFO rounds out an aggressive hiring campaign Paddock started in 2005. Earlier in the year, the company brought John Ball on board as senior vice president of retail merchandising and Ted Ciccone as vice president of marketing and advertising.

"We intend to be the best in every category we operate in and have hired the best talent to lead that charge," said David Ghiz, president of Paddock's retail division.

Paddock Pools, Patio and Spas, one of the Southwest's leading pool builders and outdoor living specialty retailers, was established in 1958 by George Ghiz and now is managed by his sons, David and Buzz Ghiz. Paddock operates nine stores in Phoenix and two in Las Vegas.
