Donelly was selected from among three finalists. Nearly 80 nominations were initially submitted. As a regional award recipient, Donelly will now go on to compete at the national level. Honorees at the national level will be recognized during a ceremony Nov. 16 in Palm Springs.
Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes the significant contributions of entrepreneurs who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.
Donelly said he does not feel that this is a personal award, but an award that recognizes Tervis and its employees, retailers, vendors and the culture that has been created.
"A company is only as successful as the people who work there," he said. "We have a culture of people who take pride in what they do and share my passion. For me it's not hard work if you are doing what you love."
According to Ernst & Young, this award program recognizes high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Now in its 27th year, the Entrepreneur of the Year program has expanded globally to recognize company builders in more than 140 cities and 50 countries throughout the world.
