Richard Frinier expands cobranded collection for Brown Jordan
October 10, 2012,
LOS ANGELES -- Designer Richard Frinier has expanded his eponymous cobranded furniture collection with Brown Jordan, adding a new design to the mix this fall called "Flex."
The collection includes dining/arm chairs, lounge chairs, motion lounge chairs and ottomans, with complementary dining, chat, coffee and occasional tables from his earlier collections for Brown Jordan: Elements, Swim and Sway, making Flex a candidate for smart mixing and matching.
Each piece in the collection is built using resilient Suncloth straps hand woven over a striking powder-coated aluminum frame in a cross-strap basket weave pattern that provides exceptional comfort, durable function and easy style in equal measure.
"My return to collaborate with Brown Jordan in recent years has been a very enjoyable and successful venture," Frinier said. "It is a pleasure to work with the company and to design for our combined following. I was inspired to design Flex for Brown Jordan using their new flexible Suncloth strap material from Sunbrella with stretch properties, because I am passionate about developing new materials and evolving design in a thoughtful and progressive manner. The flexibility of the strap speaks to the name of the collection, which has broad appeal as a contemporary take on earlier strap furniture."
Frinier and Brown Jordan's Chief Brand Officer Stephen Elton both appear in a new video released by Brown Jordan, which features the two iconic brand personalities discussing the design legacy of Brown Jordan as well as the company's newest designs for 2013. To view the video, click here.
