Mr. Bar-B-Q appoints new CEO and president

Mr. Bar-B-Q announced today the appointments of Marc Zemel as chief executive officer and Lu Soguero as president of the barbecue accessories company. Zemel and Soguero will succeed Alexander Zemel, the original founder and owner of Mr. Bar-B-Q, who passed away on March 21, 2011.

Marc Zemel is the son of Alexander Zemel and has been with the company for 20 years, helping his father grow it from a regional-based company to an internationally known barbecue brand.

Lu Soguero has been with the company for more than 38 years. Alongside Mr. Zemel, she started Mr. Bar-B-Q and helped develop and grow it into an international company.

"This has been a very difficult year for the Mr. Bar-B-Q family. But we are pleased and honored to appoint Lu Soguero," said Marc Zemel, CEO. "Soguero will continue to put her dedication, passion and experience into the future of our company while maintaining our family values."

Both Zemel and Soguero will begin their positions immediately and focus on innovative new products, re-branding efforts and the company's 40th anniversary in 2012.
