Hospitality show to coincide with February Las Vegas Market

Las Vegas — A trade show catering to the hospitality, senior living and health care marketplace will take place at the World Market Center in February and will run concurrently with the Las Vegas Market.
The new show, Inspiredesign, will take place Feb. 1-3 in the Pavilions on the WMC grounds, while the furniture market is scheduled for Feb. 1-5 in the WMC’s three permanent showroom buildings.
“Our goal for this new event is to offer a platform of convergence across all decision makers in the design and hospitality process,” said Phillip McKay, senior vice president of the WMC. “This dynamic show launch seeks to fulfill a validated need in the design and hospitality marketplace.”
The two shows will benefit from shared transportation services and negotiated hotel rates, and will offer designers who attend the Las Vegas Market access to new resources and inspiration, McKay said.
He also said that Inspiredesign should open up new business opportunities for exhibitors. Some 63% of the WMC’s permanent exhibitors already sell or have expressed interest in selling the hospitality market, said McKay.
Overseeing the new show is Gerry Seibel, who has been director of leasing for the WMC’s Las Vegas Design Center since 2007.
The show also will include an Excellence in Design competition sponsored by Interior Design magazine. Details on the competition will be announced in the fall.
