Beautiful spaces, ageless places highlighted in spring edition of Design Today

Design Today March 2015 coverHIGH POINT — Ageless places incorporate modern classics, sustainable style and right/downsizing design, and the latest edition of Design Today, Progressive Business Media’s digital quarterly magazine for interior designers, explores all three categories via product introductions, designer perspectives and industry insiders’ forecast of market trends.

Along with a comprehensive look at current market sources for upholstery, case goods, outdoor furnishings and accessories, the latest edition of Design Today features dozens of industry veterans talking about what they’re seeing in the marketplace, their predictions for 2015 and beyond, and insight into some of the products they are sourcing for projects.

On the product side, outdoor rugs are highlighted in the Floor Plan, along with wall couture — a fresh, current and embraceable reinvention of wall coverings. Lamps and lighting are also center stage, and in Odds & Ends: Finish the Room, new products for every room of the home highlight industry innovation and items at all price points that can inspire consumers to buy.

Design Today is the year-round link between interior designers and the home furnishings industry. Parent company to Furniture/Today and sister publications Home Accents Today, Casual Living, Kids Today, Home & Textiles Today, Gifts & Decorative Accessories and HFN, Progressive Business Media has offices in Greensboro, N.C., and New York.

chodnett@furnituretoday.com

As the Upholstery/Style Editor for Furniture/Today, I spend my work hours studying the sloping curves of sofa frames, the intricacies of fabric and the nail head trim and button accents that function as jewelry on a piece of upholstery. I research the companies that bring these things together for retailers, and ultimately consumers, and interview industry leaders about their business strategies and where they think furniture is heading in the future. And when traveling, I provide a sneak peek at what I'm seeing, whether at international markets or in High Point or Las Vegas.

I look forward to sharing what I see and I hope you'll feel free to do the same. Email me at chodnett@furnituretoday.com or follow me on Twitter @CynthiaWHodnett.
