Color forecast - Fantasy Land

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 9/8/2010 7:38:44 AM

The Color Pulse explores this trend through a palette titled Escape. "Vaporous and luminous cosmetic hues radiate through this palette," the Color Pulse states. "Surreal and translucent, these dreamy pales are frosted and opalescent. Sheer textiles, glycerin finishes, pearls and transparent materials are well-matched to gauzy, veiled colors with a decidedly feminine bent."

H. StudioServing as a metaphor for the multicolored spectrums of the imagination, dreamy pales swirl into a frenzy of color on the Glowing Faces wall decor from H. Studio.
CalleijaFrosted angelic tones, sheer fabric and crystal embellishments lend a fairytale feel to the Calleija advertisement.

Escape delves into the realm of fairytale creatures exploring fantasy lands that time forgot. Mist, mysterious landscapes and blurred coverings free the imagination to take form, while angelic tones allow for hopeful balance, the Color Pulse states.
Shades in Escape include Angelica, Pearlescent White, Tulle, Charmeuse, Icy Mist, Lavender Secret, Bunny Nose Pink and Rose Lace.
"Distinguishing the real from the surreal defines priorities that will also drive the direction for colors in 2011," states Benjamin Moore's 2011 Color Pulse. "It gives us a chance to dream of the future, while appreciating the steps along the way. Dreams and fantasies help open the escape hatch leading to a more harmonic state."

The Trend Curve further explores this trend in a palette titled Dream State, which is all about fantasy, escapism and whimsy, said Lamb. Transparent materials are present, such as Lucite, clear resin and glass. Expect to see iconography from the Zodiac and constellations, as well as fanciful creatures such as unicorns and ligers.
LaneventureWith curvy comfort, the Palamar Chaise puts the ooh la la in vogue. Part of Laneventure’s WeatherMaster Palamar line, the durable chaise has an exclusive drainthrough cushion and adjustable headrest. Showroom 1544     The volume hues tied to Dream State are yellow-cast greens, navy, sandstone and violet with accents of Ancient Clay, Peacock Blue and Dynasty Gold.
Pantone's Wit and Whimsy palette offers a different interpretation in terms of color in that the hues read more vibrant.
"This fanciful palette invites us to put on a happy face," said Eiseman. The colors look like a bowl of jellybeans and include Bright Chartreuse, Empire Yellow, Sea Pink, Deep Sea Coral, Carrot, Brown Sugar, Ultramarine, Clematis Blue and Bachelor Button.
