Big Green Egg names new president

Ardy Arani succeeds founder Ed Fisher

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 10/1/2010 9:09:04 AM

ArdyArani_W.jpgThe Big Green Egg Company, a dominant brand in the ceramic cooker market, announced the appointment of a new president to lead the company. Ardy Arani, an accomplished business executive with more than three decades of experience in a wide range of industries, has been tapped to step into the role currently held by company founder, Ed Fisher, who will assume the position of chairman.

"As we head into our fourth decade of success, I realized it was necessary to begin planning for future needs and the growth of the company both domestically and internationally," Fisher said today in making the announcement at Big Green Egg's Atlanta headquarters. "In Ardy Arani we have an exceptional business leader with a background in many business disciplines from management to marketing, licensing and operations. More importantly, he has significant experience at the top levels of some of the largest companies in the business world, and understands how to grow a brand and bring value to stakeholders. We are very excited about this next phase of our history, and welcome Ardy to the Big Green Egg team."

Arani joins the BGE team effective Oct. 1, and will be based at the U.S. headquarters location. Arani's position is in effect a new post, as Fisher takes the chairman title. The present BGE management team, including Vice President and General Manager Jim Nufer, will remain in place with no changes contemplated at this time.
