Casual furniture retailer Kurt Lorig dies

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 12 for Kurt Lorig, 83, founding owner of Anaheim Patio & Fireside and an ICFA Lifetime Achievement Award winner in 2005.

Lorig_Kurt_W.jpgLorig, a Holocaust survivor, arrived in the United States as a teen-ager in 1947 from war-torn Germany. With a limited command of English, he settled with family members in Chicago, where he met Phyllis, his wife for more than 61 years.

In addition to his wife, Loring is survived by his daughter Bonnie (Gary) Richins. He was preceded in death by another daughter, the late Ileene Sears. Also surviving are grandchildren Donald (Kerry), Shari (Billy), Allison (Rick), Lauren, Gregg and Ryan and great-grandson Jaren.
Funeral was held at TaNaCH Chapel, Mt. Sinai Memorial Park, Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Bat Yahm Torah Fund, 1011
Camelback, Newport Beach, CA 92660.
