Capel continues New Style Point of View program at winter markets

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 12/23/2010 3:22:55 PM

CapelCapel will debut the stylish, yet comfortable Ombre Collection this winter.TROY, N.C. - Capel Rugs is rolling out a variety of new designs at the January markets in Las Vegas and Atlanta that build on the highly successful New Style Point of View program introduced at this fall's High Point market.

Capel's New Style Point of View program - distinguished by its creative blend of classic stylings with soft-contemporary and transitional styles - features unexpected colors and patterns inspired by the latest trends in fashion. Some of the rugs in the program also incorporate sustainable fibers to appeal to eco-conscious consumers.

New rug designs for the winter markets include fresh florals, ikats and damasks in a range of striking tones and textures.

"This fall, it felt like we found a perfect balance between the fashion-forward stylings and practical designs everyone wants to have in their homes," said Tami Watras, director of merchandising for Capel Rugs. "We are excited to continue introducing consumers to Capel's New Style Point of View this winter."

"We at Capel have worked hard to respond to the changing tastes of today's consumer, as well as to the evolving needs of our retailers," said Vice President of Sales Allen Robertson. "Sales this year have shown that our hard work has paid off, and we are looking forward to continuing that success throughout the winter."

Some of Capel's most exciting introductions come from its newest partner, renowned fabric designer Kevin O'Brien. O'Brien's designs play with line and texture to create subtle, yet interesting visual effects in four new collections, Ombre, Daisy Climber, Droplets and Zanzibar.

Among Capel's introductions for the winter markets are numerous braided collections: Key West, Opal, Rhythm, Salt Marsh-Knit Braid, Salt Marsh-Rope Border, Hammock and Sea Glass. The popular Hampton rug will also be debuting several new colorways.

New hand-tufted collections from Capel are Bloom, Marrakesh and Sanctuary. Hannah, a loop-hooked rug, will also make its debut.

This season, Capel has worked with its licensing partners to create collections that are chic and easy to incorporate into your home. Filigree by Williamsburg and Arrondelle by Biltmore add a modern flare to the traditional features found in both places.

Taking choice and value to the next level, Capel now offers customers two rugs in one with its Convertibles Collection. Convertibles' unique dual-sided tufted construction makes redecorating as easy as flipping over the rug.

Capel will be showing Jan. 13-16 at the International Area Rug Market in Atlanta. The company's Atlanta showroom is located in Merchandise Mart at Space 6F2.

The Las Vegas Market will be held January 24-28. Capel's Las Vegas showroom is located at World Market Center, Space A226.

Capel, Inc. is based in Troy, N.C., where the company still does the spinning, dyeing, weaving, braiding and sewing for Capel's American Original braided rugs. From original braided rugs and the finest hand-knotted rugs to innovative outdoor and kids rugs, Capel offers more rugs in more categories than any other rug company. Capel rugs are sold through independent retailers, catalogs and designer showrooms in High Point, N.C., Atlanta, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
