Fairy Gardening to introduce garden kits and Fairy Flowers line

DENVER - Fairy Gardening will show a new product line including Fairy Gardening starter kits, furniture, soil and Fairy Flowers at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market from Jan. 14-18.

Fairy Gardening kits provide aspiring gardeners with a solution for starting their first miniature garden. The kit includes a box for planting, saucer, soil, arbor with bench, birdbath, wheelbarrow, tiny pebbles to form a path, fairy dust and design, planting and care instructions.

Fairy Gardening kits are the brainchild of Jeff and Emily Sorenson, who also own Rabbit Shadow Greenhouse in Loveland, Colo. and have been promoting the practice of fairy gardening for nearly 12 years. The husband and wife business partners were thrilled when the hobby began to gain in popularity on a national level.

"We initially began offering Fairy Gardening classes with the idea they'd appeal to mothers with young daughters," said Jeff Sorenson. "While we definitely saw moms and little girls coming in, we were surprised to also see grown daughters bringing their mothers and grandmothers, as well as sisters and groups of girlfriends of all ages enjoying fairy gardening. We were even more surprised by the number of couples who fairy garden together."

The Sorensons have been offering a version of the Fairy Gardening kit for more than five years now and decided to begin to mass-produce the product once they were no longer able to meet the demand of their current customer base.

"We had been putting together an assortment of components and repackaging them for years when we decided we'd like to be able to brand the entire product offering to make it an even nicer gift item," said Emily Sorenson.

In addition to the Fairy Gardening kits, Fairy Gardening will also launch the Fairy Flowers line of plants at Americasmart. The plants have been selected to work well in miniature gardens.

Emily said she and her husband saw a need for plants that embraced the spirit of fairy gardening. "In addition to getting beautiful plants, Fairy Flowers' customers will also enjoy custom fairy artwork and stories about each fairy on the plant tags," she said.

Fairy Gardening was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Loveland, Colo. The company sells Fairy Gardening kits, furniture and soil, as well as Fairy Flowers to the trade.

Fairy Gardening will show at the Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishings Market from Jan. 14-18 in the Temporaries located in Building 2 WestWing, floor 3, booth 808.
