Surya continues 35th anniversary celebration in Las Vegas

CALHOUN, Ga. — Surya announced it will continue its year-long 35th anniversary celebration at the Las Vegas World Market Center today.

To commemorate the anniversary, Surya will be hosting parties at all eight of the markets they participate in throughout the year, including Atlanta, Las Vegas, New York and High Point. The second of eight celebrations will be held in its Las Vegas Showroom, B370, today from 4-7 p.m. The event will include a catered dinner, cocktails and live music.

Surya was founded in 1976 in the northeastern village of Ugapur, India by Surya Tiwari. Its first office and warehouse in the United States were set up in 1986 in New York. The company moved to Calhoun, Ga. in 2001, where it currently bases its corporate offices and warehouses. Surya's mission at the time was to establish a company that would help support and provide income for his family and local villagers. From its humble beginnings, Surya has grown to become one of the largest rug exporters in India and suppliers to the United States and international markets.

"We want to celebrate and honor them throughout the year to thank them for everything they have done to help make us the company we are today.
