TUUCI expands international headquarters in Miami

Responds to growing business and production needs

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 2/10/2011 3:43:38 PM

TUUCI, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of innovative shade structures, has expanded its international headquarters facility in Miami, Fla. in response to its growing business and production needs. TUUCI's new industrial manufacturing complex encompasses more than 65,000 square feet of production, office and logistical space.

"This additional space situates our enterprise for growth well into the decade," said Dougan Clarke, founder and CEO of TUUCI. "It provides us with an adequate footprint to expand our capabilities and increase the velocity in which our orders are fulfilled.

"Our management team and manufacturing personnel have designed the new space to improve and streamline our production processes," Clarke said. "In addition, this arrangement will provide a better environment for our Shadow Works creative division as well as increase opportunities for further specialization."

The addition to TUUCI headquarters marks the company's fifth U.S.-based expansion since it began designing and manufacturing parasols, cabanas, lounges and other shade structures in Miami in 1998. The company markets and sells its products around the world and is regularly recognized for design innovation through industry awards from the Industrial Fabrics Association International and the International Casual Furnishings Association. Its new Shadow Works division, which will be based in the expanded space, is a research and development unit specializing in shaping the future of open air living and shade design for the company.

"Having the right people in the right dedicated spaces will make a difference in our overall effectiveness as an efficient manufacturer answering the demands of our new swift economy," Clarke said. "This will positively impact our product innovation and drive our sales as we extend our reach around the world."

Keeping the environment top of mind, TUUCI's manufacturing facility follows an Environmental Sustainability Program reducing solid waste and recycling objects from plastics to steel to fabric and beyond. With 100% replaceable parts, TUUCI products have an extended lifespan resulting in less waste.
