Sunbrella introduces Hot Pink to its color line
Vibrant color addition radiates fun and sophistication

Sunbrella Fabrics has added Hot Pink to its extensive color portfolio, bringing the vibrant hue to indoor and outdoor décor and signaling that consumers are ready to have fun with color again.
Fabric designers and textile engineers at Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, makers of Sunbrella, devoted several months to identifying the right hue of pink for integration into its fabric offerings for the new season. The color choice is reinforced by the recent Pantone selection of Honeysuckle, a courageous, bold pink, as its color of the year.
"Pink is a much more versatile color than many people believe," said Gina Wicker, design and creative director for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. "Our first fabrics in this color family are livable yet sophisticated, ideal for furniture indoors and outdoors."
The color has been rendered in two new fabrics - Canvas Hot Pink, a solid, versatile base cloth, and Steeplechase Malibu, a preppy stripe that includes bright blues, white and yellow. Both fabrics are currently available through Century Furniture. The fabrics are new introductions for 2011, the 50th anniversary year of the Sunbrella brand, and will be added to the Sunbrella furniture fabric stock book in the fall.
For outdoor environments, Sunbrella Hot Pink is a bright accent in the color palette, particularly when set against a green background of foliage and landscaping. When used on outdoor furniture, the color brightens its environment and becomes a focal point for shady spaces.
When used indoors, Hot Pink can be combined with cool neutrals such as blue and gray for a modern effect or added as a cheerful accent to solid white. The color also goes well with darker colors such as navy, adding to their sophistication. While neutrals still dominate for large upholstered pieces, pink is an ideal accent when it comes to decorative pillows, trims and more.
Sunbrella Hot Pink has also shown promise in the awning and shade industry, with great demand in coastal locations.
"We envision the new Sunbrella Hot Pink as a signature color of South Beach, the Hamptons, Savannah and any other location where outdoor living and fantastic style go hand-in-hand," Wicker said. "We look forward to seeing the many ways Sunbrella customers and consumers alike take to this color and make it their own."
Goes great with those navys old blue willow etc!! Will be exciting to see how everyone decorates with a hot spark of pink!!
