Surya continues 35th anniversary celebration in High Point

CALHOUN, Ga. — Surya has announced it will continue its year-long 35th anniversary celebration during the High Point Market. The celebration will be held in the IHFC Building, Ball Room A on Sunday, April 3 from 7-10 p.m. The event will include a catered dinner, cocktails and live music.

To commemorate the anniversary, Surya will be hosting parties at all eight of the markets it participates in throughout the year including Atlanta, Las Vegas, New York and High Point.

Surya was founded in 1976 in the northeastern village of Ugapur, India by Surya Tiwari. The company set up its first office and warehouse in the United States in 1986 in New York, then moved to Calhoun, Ga. in 2001, where its corporate offices and warehouses are currently based. Surya's mission at the time was to establish a company that would help support and provide income for his family and local villagers. From its humble beginnings, Surya has grown to become one of the largest rug exporters in India and suppliers to the United States and international markets.
