Website enables five sites to join into an upscale online specialty shop

PITTSBURGH — With the launch of FifthroomMarkets.com, online retailing veteran Tim McTighe and his Pittsburgh-based e-commerce technology team have created an online marketplace featuring five specialty shops that work together as a market district.

Providing guidance in specific areas of expertise, these shops will operate under one holding site and benefit from centralized customer service and order fulfillment.

"We believe that the online shopping experience has reached a point that it has to move beyond just clicks and carts," said Tim McTighe, owner of FifthroomMarkets and numerous successful Internet-based retail sites including CedarStore.com. "We want to create a total experience that incorporates a unique, high-end and specialized shopping experience. FifthroomMarkets.com has been created as an online marketplace with shop sites featuring products for home, garden and family living."

While drawing upon the small-town marketplace concept, FifthroomMarkets incorporates 21st-century capabilities with a depth of products. "We are poised to create dedicated specialty-shop experiences through individualized sites with the benefit of proven customer service features across all five websites," said McTighe.

Within FifthroomMarkets.com, specialty shops will include outdoor furniture and backyard structures, as well as indoor furniture and attractive home storage pieces. Accessing the over 6,000 SKUs can be done on FifthroomMarkets.com or through their individual specialty-shop sites.

"We want our customers to shop the way they love to shop," said Hazel Jennings, editorial manager for FifthroomMarkets. "They will be able to browse everything at once, like they are perusing a large department store, or narrow their focus to a specialized boutique, as if they were shopping downtown."

The vast majority of FifthroomMarkets.com's products are manufactured in the United States, and many of them in the company's backyard by western Pennsylvania artisans. With its administrative offices and warehouses all operated in the United States, FifthroomMarkets.com hopes to attract customers searching for American-made designs.

As part of FifthroomMarkets.com's launch, a complementary, forward-thinking blog will be added. Five well-known bloggers in the areas of outdoor living, home furnishing trends and artistry will be featured within FifthroomLiving.com.
