Capel Rugs reports brisk High Point business

New outdoor rugs from CocoCozy line among intros

TROY, N.C. — Powered by expansions to its licensed CocoCozy and Biltmore lines and other new additions, Capel Rugs enjoyed a successful October High Point

Market, with dealer attendance for the first two days up 20% over the previous year’s show.

“We’re very excited about the results we generated at this fall’s High Point Market,” said Cameron Capel, vice president of national accounts for Capel Rugs. “Retailers are hungry for innovative looks that represent a strong value, and that’s exactly what we delivered. Our new rugs placed well across our entire customer base at a wide range of styles, constructions and price points, positioning us for solid growth as we head into next year.”

Leading the way were four new additions to the CocoCozy line — Finesse Tower Court, Color Block, Ribbons and Glace. Inspired by one of Coco’s favorite designs from her textile line, CocoCozy’s Tower Court collection drew particular attention with its modern, geometric styling. Machine woven in Belgium of 100% olefin, the design is part of Capel Rugs’ Finesse line of indoor-outdoor rugs.

“Tower Court should have strong appeal with today’s contemporary leaning Millennials,” Capel said. “This model adds another strong indoor-outdoor design to our popular Finesse line.”

Capel added that Tower Court’s barley tone was especially well received. Tower Court also is available in charcoal, spa and capri blue colorways.

A well-known home furnishings designer and blogger, Coco was in the Capel Rugs showroom on Sunday, Oct. 23, to kick off the latest additions to her rug line. In an informal meet-and-greet session with retailers, Coco talked about her design process and key inspirations.

"This was one of the busiest markets we’ve had in quite a while,” said Capel. “We not only saw all of our key retailers, we also saw a number of new buyers and designers.”
