Midwest-CBK President Frederic Contino to lead National Candle Association

CANNON FALLS, Minn. — Frederic Contino, president of Midwest-CBK, has been elected to serve as the president of the National Candle Association.

Elected during the association's annual meeting in Las Vegas, Contino will lead the association during the 2011-2012 term. In his new role, Contino will focus on leading the association in all key areas of safety, product standards and development to advance the candle industry in the United States.

"I look forward to my tenure in office with the NCA, bringing together all candle industry leaders to support and grow the industry through innovation, technical advances and education," Contino said.

President of Midwest-CBK since 2006, Contino has served on the NCA board of directors since 2008, and brings more than 30 years of leadership experience to his new role. Contino has also served as Group Board Chairman-Vistage, President and CEO of Playcore Inc., President of Anchor Hocking Plastics and Newell Plastics, as well as senior management positions with Anchor Hocking Glass, Eagle Affiliates, Mirro/Wearever Cookware, Club Aluminum Cookware, Hamilton Beach and International Silver Company.
