Casual Living's latest research project presents statistics on Outdoor Furniture Imports in 2010.
Imports of outdoor furniture totaled $2.33 billion last year, a leap of 16.9% from 2009 figures of $1.99 billion. This rebounding growth places imported outdoor furniture figures back to near-2008 levels, according to the latest numbers from the U.S.Customs Service, U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. International Trade Commission.
China continues to reign supreme among all source countries for outdoor furniture imports into the United States. With $1.95 billion in shipments last year, China accounted for 84% of all imported outdoor furniture. Its shipments increased 18% in 2010 from $1.65 billion in 2009.
The report provides data on U.S. outdoor furniture imports by major source countries as well as major import categories for outdoor home furnishings. 2010 import data percentages are also reported by country and material type. An overview of the U.S. outdoor furniture import dollars for the last five years is also shown. As well, the current year's percent change for each major source country is disclosed.
