Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 6/3/2011 5:42:34 AM

TEMPERATURELAST JUNE WAS THE NATION'S SECOND WARMEST AND THIRDWETTEST IN MORE THAN 18 YEARS.
The Northeast proved to be the most favorable region as warmer and drier weather benefited outdoor living categories. At the other extreme, the Pacific Northwest was the least favorable region with the greatest change toward colder temperatures with wetter conditions dampening outdoor categories.

This month will be warmer across the West, breaking a two-year stretch of cooler temperatures. Patio furniture and other outdoor living categories will see much improved conditions across the West this year, especially in the Pacific Northwest where precipitation will trend much drier than last year. Watch out for a heat wave toward the middle to end of the month in the nation's Western region.PRECIPITATIONPRECIPITATION
Warmer and drier weather will benefit outdoor categories in the Great Lakes and northern New England. The Southeast and South Central parts of the United States will not be as favorable for outdoor furniture sales this year as cooler and wetter weather will dampen summer category demand.
