Robert Vanderminden Sr. to receive Lifetime Achievement Award

CHICAGO — The International Casual Furnishings Association will honor the 2011 Apollo Award finalists at a gala dinner Sept. 14 during the International Casual Furniture and Accessories Market. The dinner will be held at The Field Museum in Chicago and is open to both members and non-members of ICFA.

The evening begins with a 6:30 p.m. cocktail reception, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. The awards program will conclude at 9 p.m., after which guests may enjoy dancing and dessert, which will be served at stations around the event hall.

The Apollo Awards honor retail excellence in the outdoor furniture industry. The program also will include recognition of Robert D. Vanderminden Sr. of Telescope Casual Furniture, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. A fashion show of outdoor furniture fabrics, co-sponsored by Casual Living and industry fabric suppliers, will provide entertainment during the dinner.

Seating at the event is limited, and Friday, July 22 is the deadline for ordering tickets. For ICFA members, seats are $48 each or $480 for a table of 10. The non-member price is $75 each or $750 for a table of 10.
