Broad River open house celebrates Ashley Outdoor launch

FOR MILL, S.C.— Ashley Furniture and Broad River Furniture, a leading Ashley Homestore licensee in the Carolinas and Georgia, held a special event and open house here to celebrate the official launch of Ashley Outdoor.

The Outshine the Sun event was held in a large tent outside of the Ashley/Broad River corporate offices where 14 of Ashley’s 16 different outdoor collections were displayed for attendees to see, touch and use. The collections featured a mix of chat sets, with and without fire, as well as dining sets at mid-level price points.

The chairs in each set are lined with aluminum frames to add durability and resist rust. Ashley used Nuvella yarn-dyed performance fabrics for the seating sets, many of which can be mixed and matched to create unique outdoor settings.

“I’m excited about this event and it’s great of Charlie Malouf to launch this,” said Andy Sokol, vice president of merchandising for Outdoor Ashley Furniture. “The reaction from the people here and the associates I’ve met today represents a lot of companies around the country who see the opportunity in outdoor furniture as a new category that they’ve never been in.

“To see everything we’ve worked on being made and shipped to stores now, and watching people react at the retail level and buying it, it’s coming full circle. Our first year is going well and everyone is juiced up.”
