Kathy Ireland to host American Furniture Hall of Fame banquet

Event set for Oct. 23 during High Point Market

HIGH POINT — Kathy Ireland, CEO and chief designer of Kathy Ireland Worldwide, will host the 23rd American Furniture Hall of Fame Induction Banquet at the High Point Market.

Kathy IrelandThe dinner will be held on Oct. 23. Ireland designs and markets a number of home furnishings products in categories including case goods and upholstery.

"Her knowledge and genuine love of the home furnishings industry and the hundreds of thousands of people who have made the furniture industry great will make the evening memorable as we honor our new Industry Fellows and celebrate the accomplishments of these visionary leaders of our industry," said Kurt Darrow, CEO of La-Z-Boy and president of the American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation.

Six leaders representing diverse segments of the industry were named candidates for election this year into the American Furniture Hall of Fame. The nominees were Donald A. Belgrad, George Alexander Bernhardt, Donald G. Flanders Sr., John C. Portman Jr., Gordon Segal and Roy B. Unger.

Voting by Foundation members began July 8 and ended on Aug. 5. All of the candidates will be named Industry Fellows on the basis of their accomplishments.
