Surya named to Inc. Magazine's 500/5,000 List

Company recognized as one of fastest-growing in the country

Surya has been named to Inc. Magazine's Inc. 500/5,000 list, making the area rugs and home accessories manufacturer one of the few firms in its industry to grace the list of America's fastest-growing privately held companies.

Surya has experienced double-digit expansion annually from 2004 through 2011 despite the economic recession, a trend Surya CEO Satya Tiwari expects to continue. "It is a great honor to be named to the Inc. 5,000 list of the fastest-growing companies in the country," Tiwari said. "At Surya we pride ourselves on providing our customers with high quality and innovative designs for all of our products and receiving this honor shows that our customers are taking notice. We feel our strategic growth will continue because of the strong partnership we have forged with our clients who comprise 75% of the largest furniture retailers."

Surya works with designers that include HGTV's Candice Olson and Emmy-award winning costume designer Bob Mackie. Each year the company introduces hundreds of new designs to stay fresh and relevant for changing tastes.

Inc. Magazine publishes the Inc. 500/5,000 list each year to celebrate the most dynamic private companies in the United States. To be eligible for the Inc. 5,000 list, companies must be privately held, for profit and independent, have a full four-year sales history, be based in the United States, have had revenues of at least $200,000 in 2006 and a revenue of at least $2 million in 2010.

Surya will be recognized for the honor at the 30th Annual Inc. 500/5,000 Conference and Awards Ceremony Sept. 22-24, 2011 in Washington, D.C.
