Al Fresco Fashion Show takes the stage

CHICAGO — Outdoor fabric fashion illuminated the 2011 Apollo Awards Banquet on Wednesday, Sept. 14, with Casual Living's Textile Trends: Al Fresco Fashion Show headlined by Sunbrella and featuring the latest collections from Ardwyn Decorative Trim Products, Outdura, Sunbury, Tri Vantage as well as Sunbrella.
El Greco Calypso by Sunbrella added Mediterranean flair.
This year's event, held at the Field Museum, took place during the dinner portion of the evening and was MC'd by Casual Living Publisher Norman Hamilton and coordinated by Connie Lineberry, VP of marketing, Sandow Media.
Dancers with batons of fabric leapt onto the stage in tribal-inspired, outdoor textile-outfitted costumes and welcomed models outfitted in fabrics from Sunbrella's Renaissance program.
An explosion of color emerged with Outdura's Kaleidoscope collection featuring long sundresses and a short set.
The Bukhara Collection from Tri Vantage evoked a gypsy feel and Ardwyn's embellished fringe, braiding and cording jumped right on the caravan.
Sunbury Textiles crossed the pond to visit the modern royals in fashionable London where smart dresses, fascinators and tailored jackets reigned supreme.
Heading back to the Continent, chief sponsor Sunbrella visited both Spain and Greece with its Mediterranean-inspired Calypso Collection.
Fashions were designed by Faye McPherson for the show, held in conjunction with the annual Apollo Awards gala, presented by the International Casual Furnishings Association and Merchandise Mart Properties.
