Tarantin Tank & Equipment expands staff with two new appointments

Thomas A. Tarantin, president of Tarantin Tank & Equipment Company, has announced the hiring of Tom Cheatham as southeast regional sales director and the promotion of Howard Schneider to VP of procurement/inside sales.

As southeast regional sales director, Cheatham will oversee and manage sales efforts in the company's southeast territory, including Eastern coastal states from North Carolina to Florida as well as from Louisiana north to Ohio. This territory is serviced by Tarantin distribution centers in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida and Alabama, which represent four of the company's seven regional warehouse facilities.

A propane industry veteran, Cheatham has 30 years of experience in propane equipment sales and sales management. He previously worked in sales management for Gas Equipment & Supply Company and was most recently southeast regional sales manager and then national sales manager with Manchester Tank, calling on mass merchants and OEM companies. Cheatham is a lifetime member of the Georgia Propane Gas Association.

"Tom brings to this position a real passion for the industry," said Tarantin. "That passion, combined with his extensive sales management experience, will be a tremendous asset to our company and will help us expand our business in the Southeast territory."

As VP of procurement/inside sales, Schneider will be responsible for managing Tarantin's purchases as well as leading the inside sales team toward improved customer service.

"Howard's 20 years of experience at Tarantin will provide the level of expertise needed to meet the goals and direction of the company as we implement our new 10-year strategic plan," said Tarantin.
