Magnet Works expands MatMates system to Europe, Asia

Magnet Works Ltd., a leading provider of outdoor home décor accessories, began shipping its MatMates interchangeable doormat and comfort mat system to retailers and distributors in Europe and Asia this summer.
Many international buyers took interest in the MatMates line after its debut at the International Housewares Show in March, but Magnet Works negotiated its first sale outside North America with a Russian retailer, Tvoy Dom, in late spring.
"Frankly, Russia might be the last place I expected to be our first exporting country," said Curt Todd, CEO of Magnet Works, "but we consider ourselves lucky to start a relationship with such an accomplished retail developer." The chain of Tvoy Dom shopping malls is Russia's first retail project combining features of a food store, garden center, and furniture store offering household, repair, design and interior commodities.
Since selling to Tvoy Dom, Magnet Works has also shipped product samples to Karena International. Karena is an importer and wholesaler of American housewares, importing directly from the United States to Brussels, Belgium. The Belgian distributor focuses on specialty stores such as independent gift, flower, kitchen accessories, linen & household, and gourmet food stores.
