High Point Market releases style report

Style Spotters point to trends for coming seasons

high pointHIGH POINT, N.C.— The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has released this season’s High Point Market Style Report for summer/fall 2017.

The report was developed by eight home fashion gurus – four sets of design duos - all part of the HPMA’s 2017 Style Spotters team, who scoured the spring High Point Market (April 22-26, 2017) for the hottest must-have items and then translated their picks into today’s top trends for the report.

Trends range from “White Hot Texture” to “Tissue Pink” and from “Angles vs. Organics” to “Grand Textures and Salute to the Past.” All trends in the style report for summer/fall 2017 may found be found and downloaded at www.highpointmarket.org/products-and-trends/summer-fall-2017-style-report.

“The spring ‘17 event was as tantalizing as ever. We came away with beautiful selections for many of our projects, new design inspirations, and forward thinking business ideas,” said Style Spotter Emeritus Michelle Jennings Wiebe in her intro for the report. “Now, the 2017 Style Spotters – four design team duos whose talent is off the charts – bring you their special finds in our summer/fall 2017 style report.”

The Style Spotters program, launched during the October 2011 market, features home fashion pace setters who showcase their favorite products and top trends from High Point Market exhibitors via Pinterest, the at-market Style Spotters LIVE! event, the style report and various media interviews.

Style Spotters who contributed to the style report for summer/fall 2017 include:

• Michelle Jennings Wiebe, ASID (FL), Style Spotter “Emeritus,” Studio M, who wrote the report’s introduction

• CLOTH & KIND, Tami Ramsay and Krista Nye Nicholas

• Ishka Designs, Anishka Clarke and Niya Bascom

• Parker Kennedy Living, Lance Jackson and David Ecton

• Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design, Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield

Led by Michelle Jennings Wiebe, a veteran of the 2013 program and HPMA’s Style Spotter “Emeritus,” each Style Spotters team serves for two markets over a calendar year. When they source a treasure at market, they present exhibitors with a sign that highlights the Style Spotter’s name with a QR code and URL for the High Point Market Pinterest board.
