Designers in 16 furniture, accessories and lighting categories were honored Monday night with ASFD Pinnacle Awards.

The winner of the Summer and Casual category was the Embrace sectional by Normand Couture for Couture Jardin. Pinnacle judges commented: "The flexibility of the modular elements in the Embrace sectional give Couture Jardin top marks in the summer and casual category. The innovative combination of materials and colors exudes a look with superior comfort."

Stanley Furniture's Coastal Living Resort won in the major collections category for designers Richard Schroeder, Denis Kissane and Gary Hokanson. Pinnacle judges commented: "When it comes to the best of show, the Coastal Living Resort collection at Stanley Furniture translates an impressive designer approach to relaxed living at an exceptional value. Eclectic design elements come alive in mixed media plus a range of subdued colors."

The American Society of Furniture Designers hosted the market banquet to announce the 16th annual Pinnacle winners.

Furniture/Today is the major underwriter of the Pinnacle Awards. Other sponsors include AF Lighting, Continental Brass and EarthCare Furniture.

Other award winners include:

+ Green Leaf Award, Homecoming Vintage Pine by Tim Annas for Kincaid Furniture. Judges' comments: "The Green Leaf Award goes to a product that meets the most discerning design standards while also meeting a legitimately eco-friendly profile that is substantiated with sustainability criteria. The 2011 Green Leaf Award goes to the Homecoming Vintage Pine collection by Kincaid Furniture, celebrated for its nostalgic theme. The judges acknowledge the compelling charm of the design, describing it ‘rich in its simplicity.'"

+ Home entertainment, Louis Phillippe credenza by D. Scott Coley and Tommy McDaniel for Bassett Furniture. Judges' comments: "The ability to offer a superior surround sound system in attractive case pieces moves Bassett Furniture to the head of the class in helping consumers solve their home entertainment challenges without breaking the bank. The Nvelop credenza line builds in a two-speaker soundbar with a wireless subwoofer that connects with just one wire."

+ Home office, Reede's Landing by the Aspenhome design team for Aspenhome. Judges' comments: "When it comes to the home office category, the Aspenhome team thought of everything in designing the Reede's Landing collection. The traditional look features modern functionality and outstanding details. With ample storage capability and pleasing proportions, we think this group will appeal to a wide mix of consumers."

+ Bedroom, Artisan by Berry & Clark Design Associates for Planum/Mobil Fresno. Judges' comments: "The calming, restful ambience of Planum's Artisan bedroom is achieved with a delightful balance of mixed materials. We are glad to see a nice range of pieces and finishes."
