Marc Schewel elected NHFA president for 2012

Robert Dossenbach to head slate at SHFA

The National Home Furnishings Assn. and affiliated Southern Home Furnishings Assn. met during the High Point Market here and elected new slates of officers and directors for 2012.

NHFA officers elected for terms effective Jan. 1 are Marc Schewel, Schewel Furniture, Lynchburg, Va., president; Dianne Ray, Garden City Furniture, Garden City Beach, S.C., chairman; Cherie Rose, The Rose Collection, Los Gatos, Calif., president elect; Rick Howard, Sklar Furnishings, Boca Raton, Fla., senior vice president and treasurer; and John Wells III, Wells Home Furnishings, Charleston, W. Va., senior vice president.

New directors beginning three-year terms are Peggy Burns, Circle Furniture, Acton, Mass.; Jesus Capo, El Dorado Furniture, Miami Gardens, Fla.; Joe Cory Sr., Cory 1st Choice Home Delivery, Secaucus, N.J.; Mike Huber, Belfort Furniture, Dulles, Va.; Mike Root, Furniture Sales of Mid-America; Andy Thornton, La Difference, Richmond, Va.; Beckey Waldrop, Miller Waldrop Furniture, Hobbs, N.M.; and Ron Werner, HW Home, Denver.

Directors elected to the executive committee for two-year terms are Jim Fee, Stoney Creek Furniture, Stoney Creek, Ontario; Donny Hinton, Colortyme, Gaffney S.C.; Claudia LeClair, Fiesta Furnishings, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Bill Pou Jr., W.S. Badcock, Mulberry, Fla.

The new slate of SHFA officers effective Jan. 1 are Robert Dossenbach, Dossenbach's Finer Furniture, Sanford, N.C.; president; Britt Sams, Sam's Furniture, Henderson, N.C., vice president; Brian Shealy, Economy Furniture, Leesville, S.C., secretary; Robert "Tripp" Jones, Jones Wayside Furniture, Spring Lake, N.C.; treasurer; and Gary Woodham, Colfax Furniture, Greensboro, N.C., executive committee chairman.

New SHFA directors beginning three-year terms are Scott Allen, Schewel Furniture, Lynchburg, Va.; Mandy Jeffries, Colfax Furniture; and Haywood "Woody" Whichard, Midtown Furniture Superstores, Madison, N.C.
