ICFA seeks Lifetime Achievement Award nominees

Nominations due by Feb. 1

The International Casual Furnishings Association is now accepting nominations to be considered for the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award will be presented on Saturday, Sept. 22, during the Apollo Awards dinner at Chicago's Field Museum. Twenty individuals have been honored for their contributions and achievements in the casual furnishings industry to date.

To submit nominations for the award, send the names of the individuals you would like to be considered to Rhonda Craven at rcraven@ICFAnet.org no later than Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Any names recommended will be shared with the selection committee for consideration in their decision-making.

The 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award selection committee is as follows:

+ Petey Fleischut, Casual Marketplace
+ Catherine Galbreath, ABSCO Fireplace & Patio
+ Gary McCray, Lane Venture
+ Lou Rosebrock, Lloyd/Flanders
+ Dean Smith, Dean H. Smith Associates, Inc.
+ Larry Talbott, Fishels
+ Henry Vanderminden, Telescope Casual Furniture

The committee will be reviewing nominees and selecting a recipient in the coming weeks. Manufacturers/importers, retailers, designers, sales representatives and suppliers in the casual furnishings industry are all eligible for the award. The following award criteria should be considered for potential nominations:

+ A present or former member of the casual furniture industry, who by past actions or accomplishments has served as a role model or inspiration for others in the industry
+ An innovative leader with ideas that advance the growth of the casual furniture industry
+ An individual who has continually given of themselves to others in the industry
+ Their accomplishments have been acknowledged by their peers in the casual furniture industry
+ Their achievements have stood the test of time.
