As they were developing their new store, Laing and co-owner Tim Jenson were introduced to Burrows, who formerly was one of the owners of Terra Furniture for 37 years and before that worked for Brown Jordan for 21 years.

Burrows brought in Assistant Manager Ginger Evans, who was responsible for all the design and layout of the store, from paint colors to selection of merchandise. Evans, former manager of Roger's Gardens in Corona del Mar and of Gibson's, developed displays for nine lines of furniture on both floors of Pasadena Patio's 6,500-sq.-ft. showroom. She is now the official designer for Pasadena Patio, which will work closely with the local design community.

Pasadena Patio"Ginger has a unique ability for both color and design of such a new operation," Burrow said. He noted the store's unusual unique features include a complete outdoor room and two fireplaces built inside the store.

A large display of built-in barbecues allows consumers to visualize them in their own backyards. The store carries Lynx, Viking and Big Green Egg. It soon will add Weber grills to its line up.

After a formal opening at the end of 2011, the store is already off to a better than expected start, according to its co-owners Laing and Jenson.
